A Tune of Autumn

A Tune of Autumn

Heather on my lips
Needles in my eyes
A wisp smoke on the eve
Before it all burnt down

Daydreamt dragons
In a lair exquisite
I pilfer one piece
But only leave
A little toasted

Silver melody bellows,
Carries through the wind
Past my ear as I wallow
Bunkered under a willow

A tune of autumn
Of the end of seasons
Yet the beginning of others

I have been writing poetry for the last 13 years. It all started as an assignment for a creative writing course. I never thought I would like writing, as I am dyslexic and language was always a struggle for me, but I fell in love with the art form in that class.
