Shadows and Sticks

caffeine hyperdrive
a manic stuck on auto drive
retrograde mental projections
back turned, I left in rejection
illusions weaved in my mind eye
forsaken by the very reality, I
a world of shadows and sticks
bending the truth, as the candle
	burns down to the wick
               I feel sick

I have been writing poetry for the last 13 years. It all started as an assignment for a creative writing course. I never thought I would like writing, as I am dyslexic and language was always a struggle for me, but I fell in love with the art form in that class.
