The Silhouette Dies

The Silhouette Dies

silhouette off there stands
far to reach, too close to stay
corporeal being emerge
a figure as fine as sand
sung of sirens blare
this head ringing in
waves of nausea
take this hand and said
adventures can ensue
just reach to stars
with the lightest touch
erosion begun
like a sand sculpture
the silhouette dies
fine dust carries over
in wind I choke
for time lies
and visions wane
this is the end
a painted lie
the silhouette dies.

I have been writing poetry for the last 13 years. It all started as an assignment for a creative writing course. I never thought I would like writing, as I am dyslexic and language was always a struggle for me, but I fell in love with the art form in that class.
