Growing Flames

Growing Flames

I cast flames at the world around me
the illogical, they drive me crazy
Me the cold emotionless being

This rage that has built in me
feeding off this world in flames
I can see every night from my room

I watch as we slay another
over fallacies cast in gold

the divide between us grinds
as the molten crust rolls

From my grand post I preach
love before the fire, the ire we build
on the kindling of torn down civility

The fabric that I wrap around me
woven from a reality that I bend
in my direction I cast the chaos
that permeates our pores

Eyes shot, death trots
Into one-way mirror I watch
all the disorder in the world

Behind my smirk,
I see the blaze engraved.

I have been writing poetry for the last 13 years. It all started as an assignment for a creative writing course. I never thought I would like writing, as I am dyslexic and language was always a struggle for me, but I fell in love with the art form in that class.
