abyss

Abyss

Plunge into a bottomless pit
Down deep into fathoms unknown
Forever falling, falling, falling
Farther down into the darkness
Crystal cries muffled on dank walls
The world above grows dimmer
As time goes on, soon all that is left
Is the pit, this purgatory of falling
A wish for a floor nonexistent
A hope driving existence.
