Ripples in Water

Ripples in Water

skipping stones, alone
angry at them, and worlds
when I hear a caplunk.

water ripples surround
deathly still
vast circle
rock locked in place.

drawn forward in
hysteria, heart pounding
swimming out to meet
stillness creeping.

down into my bones
I struggle to stay afloat.

bubbles gargle out
body drug into the depths.

below the deepest reaches
beyond bottomless.

darkness encroachs.

awaken in a field of steel
walls glimmer in a dank darkness
a roof bowling out from center
crystal pillars surround me
7 in groups of three.

summoned from depths
an unholy spirit of black cloak
appear before me devil's arm.

red spheres break the black
ghastly figure draws out
a grotesque knife, crooked
misty black, dripping ink
and into my chest, it sinks.

Terror, life rising, then falls
walls crumbling all around
floor erupting in sparks.

room goes dark.

chest up then down.

air rushing in.

a body washed up on shore.

Waterfall

Cascading
Memories trickling down
In pools around me
I drown

Thoughts
Roaring to life by rapid
Pounding, all the way
Beating down to my id

Rolling
Tides wash me ashore
Gasping for breath
Functioning no more

Puddles
Surround me, drown me
The pounding of the cascades
Boring into what I am to be

Silence
As I quiet
The roaring tempest
That had been in riot

Drip
With the drop
I ask, can I continue
In this fashion, or must I stop.
